Florence : 1973 31' Airstream Excella 

When the Airstream Excella was released in 1973, it was the crème de la crème with a built-in generator, water hose, and doorbell. When we took on Florence as a vintage Airstream Excella restoration project, we wanted to bring a once revered travel trailer model back to its original upscale glory. Before coming to Mountain Modern Airstream, Florence's brave owners took on the renovation project themselves and did the dirty work of gutting the entire Airstream interior. With this initial part of the Airstream restoration process behind us, we dove into the rest of the renovation, including the design and layout of Florence. Now, Florence is a small-scale space filled with thoughtful touches, natural light, and room for relaxing.

Resources

In addition to giving Florence a facelift with new exterior lights and lenses, we also boosted her plumbing with new water tanks (all from Vintage Trailer Supply). As for her elegant luxury chevron vinyl flooring from Mannington, and her Dometic air conditioner, we installed both with the same goals we keep in mind for all of our custom travel trailer projects: user experience, aesthetics, and feel.
