We shared photos of Agnes the other day, and received a great deal of questions about the concrete countertops we put in this1983 31' vintage Airstream. We had never done concrete counters before, but our client requested them and we love a challenge!

A key thing we should note right away - we use house materials in our trailers quite often, and we always remind our clients that these materials are unconventional to put in a travel trailer, but we make modif...

Back in October '16 we were fabricating new interior skins for our first Airstream, Gilda. This was one of the most difficult tasks we took on, and we swore to ourselves we would never buy another Airstream that didn't already have walls (aka interior skins). But, low and behold, our first paid project was an Argosy that had make-shift walls and required new skins be made.

So here we are again, one year later, with a bit of knowledge and experience under ou...

We've received many questions about insulation throughout our Airstream restoration process, partly because there are a few different options worth considering and even more opinions on what’s best.

Spray Foam

On our first Airstream restoration we did a ton of research and ultimately decided on spray foam insulation. Based in Bend, Oregon, we get some chilly winters and warm summers, so we wanted our trailer to be as toasty/cool as possible and per...

We have now enjoyed the experience of purchasing two Airstreams, and have learned so much with each purchase. We have had quite a few people ask us what to look for in an vintage Airstream that they intend to remodel, and boy do we wish someone had given us a few tips when this all began! So here is what we look for in an Airstream:

Let's start of with exterior bits:

Skin condition : Be sure to keep your eye out for worming, dents or scratches as these can b...

With tiling in an RV, it's all about flexibility - from the way you build the wall/framing to the grout and additive you use.

We ran PEX pipe from the fresh water tank to the on-demand hot water heater, then to all units needing water - shower valve, kitchen sink and bathroom sink. It's all run above the ground in hopes to be able to use it in colder weather, as not to have the pipes freeze. The material expands so it's supposed to prevent cracks in case the system does freeze, it's a much more modern plumbing system than what the original trailer was supplied with.

We had every intention of polishing our own airstream upon interior completion, but after meeting Wally Hoffman and hearing his raving reviews of A+ Trailer Polishing, we decided to give Kreg a call. Kreg and his team are based in California but were happy to get in a little Bend, OR adventure time. The exterior skin of our airstream was in rough shape, complete with scratches, dents and worming ie. filiform corrosion. The steps that Kreg and his team took...

When we purchased our airstream, we didn't really know what to look for, what to value when evaluating our new project. So we towed this old beaut home with n

As you can imagine, with as small of a space as we have in our 26' airstream, every inch counts. So when we designed the dinette, we had to keep storage in min

The first thing we are going to admit, is that we are not experts in every field of this process, and for something as important as kitchen cabinets, we wanted perfection, so we hired a carpenter. We considered purchased cabinets from Ikea, installing and modifying them as needed, but with the cost and time spent on modifications to the curved walls and small space, we opted for higher-quality customization.

We purchased 3/4" maple plywood from a local buil...
