Gilda : 1966 26' Airstream Overlander

As a ’66 Airstream Overlander that had already been completely gutted, Gilda was in less than great shape when we first towed her from the salty Oregon Coast to our custom Airstream workshop in Bend, Oregon. From the frame and propane lines, to the sub-flooring, interior skins, and everything in between, we had to rebuild and repair almost every inch of Gilda. While this presented quite a challenge, it also gave us a blank slate to work with in designing our very first Airstream travel trailer. For Gilda, we went with what we thought a modern travel trailer should be—a thoughtfully crafted space with a bright, open-concept design. Today, Gilda sleeps four, offers ample storage space, remains usable when not plugged in, and is as welcoming and quaint as can be.

After purchasing high-quality Airstream windows from Vintage Trailer Supply, we replaced nearly all the windows on Gilda. We also fabricated new interior skins, the aluminum for which was purchased from Air Parts Inc. With this particular Airstream restoration project, we installed fresh exterior lights and lenses, as well as new water tanks. For the water tanks and all high-quality reproduced vintage Airstream parts and accessories, we turned to Vintage Trailer Supply.
