Susan : 1972 29' Airstream Ambassador

A client approached us with a specific Airstream design, style, and size in mind. Somewhere in the wilds of Oregon, we found the perfect Airstream travel trailer (a ’72 Airstream Ambassador) to help us check all the boxes, towed it back to Bend, and named her Susan. While much of Susan’s original Airstream interior was intact, it was not in the best shape. In order to do a full restoration on Susan, we rebuilt some of her original Airstream design and made essential updates throughout the living quarters. Once we put the finishing touches on Susan’s overall Airstream layout, we handed it over to be used as a home office during the week and a family adventure-mobile on the weekend.

Resources

To keep things classy and durable, we purchased laminate oak flooring from Home Depot and installed it throughout Susan’s communal spaces. By the front desk area, we installed a double USB Port, light switch, and power outlet, as well as beautiful brass accessories purchased from Juniper Design. For this custom Airstream restoration project, we also installed new water tanks, fresh exterior lights, and new lenses. All of our high-quality reproduced vintage Airstream items, including the water tanks, were bought through Vintage Trailer Supply.
